Welcome to the International Conference on Postgraduate Research 2023

Theme: Navigating Postgraduate Studies in the Digital and post-COVID-19 era

The University of Namibia, in partnership with the National Commission on Research Science and Technology (NCRST) will be hosting an International Research Conference to take place 20 – 21 July 2023 in Windhoek.
The Conference targets to bring together students, academics, researchers, policy makers, government officials and all interested parties to engage, exchange, share experiences, discuss topical and emerging issues as well as exploring best practices and solutions relating to postgraduate studies in the digital and post Covid-19 era; and also serve as a networking platform to advancing postgraduate studies, globally.
Conference Sub-themes
Targeted participants are encouraged to submit abstracts for papers and/or poster presentations at the conference aligned to the following conference subthemes:
•    Digitalisation of postgraduate studies
•    Promoting success in postgraduate studies
•    Future of postgraduate studies post-Covid 19
•    Role of postgraduate research towards a research intensive University
•    Impact of Postgraduate Research on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The abstract should include the title, list of authors, affiliations with addresses, the text, and email for the presenter (and corresponding author if different), in that order.

The name of the presenter should be in bold.

The format for the abstract must be Times New Roman in MS-Word document as follows: Title of the paper (font size 12 in bold); and the rest in font size 11, double spaced with a 2.5 cm margin on either side.

The total number of words in the abstract should not exceed 250.The abstract must be submitted online (?), on the conference website.

Kindly take note that all participants should arrive in Swakopmund (Namibia) on Sunday the 17th of September 2023. Participants that are coming into the country via air route have a number of options: (i) Book flights directly to the Walvis Bay International Airport (Namibia) either via Cape Town International Airport (South Africa) or O. R. Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg, South Africa); (ii) Book flights directly to Hosea Kutako International Airport (Windhoek, Namibia). All delegates are requested to provide the Local Organising Committee with their flight itineraries so that we can arrange shuttles from the airport to the hotel.

The 14th ASMS will be hosted at the Swakopmund Plaza Hotel & Conference Centre. This hotel and conference centre is ideally located in the heart of Swakopmund and is surrounded by a number of historic buildings and restaurants providing you with the best base to explore Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and the Namib Desert.
