Overview

The University of Namibia (UNAM) is the largest and leading National institution of higher education in the country.  It is a diverse institution with a student population from 41 countries and from all continents. Although a relatively young university, it has grown to support a student population of over 30,144 this year.

Academic programmes at the University are housed by eight faculties and eight schools:

These committed faculties and competent administrative support staff have earned the University a ranking of being one of the top African Universities. During 2006, UNAM was rated as the best higher education institution in Namibia by the Professional Management Review of South Africa and won a Golden Arrow Award. The previous year a Geneva based Foundation for Excellence in Business Practice nominated UNAM to be the recipient of the Foundation’s Gold Medal for Excellence in Business Practice.

As UNAM celebrated the 25th Jubilee of her existence in 2017, it also prides herself for having responded positively to the call of our Government where it could.  To date UNAM has graduated over 39,536 students who are serving the country in various sectors of the economy with most occupying prominent positions in government and the private sector, as well as worldwide.
