About SANORD 2026

The University of Namibia (UNAM) will host the 2026 Southern African–Nordic Centre (SANORD) Annual Scientific Conference in Windhoek, Namibia, under the theme Reimagining Knowledge for Shared Development.

The theme highlights the transformative role of knowledge systems in shaping equitable, just, and sustainable futures, and convenes scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and students from the Global South and North to interrogate dominant paradigms and co-create pathways toward shared development.

Call for Abstracts are open. Submissions are invited for paper and poster presentations, symposia, workshops, and roundtable discussions.

  • Economic Transformation, Entrepreneurship, and Future Skills
  • Epistemic Justice, Social Justice, and Inclusive Knowledge Systems
  • Governance, Policy Reform, and Collaborative Partnerships for Global Impact
  • Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Emerging Technologies in Higher Education
  • Global Citizenship, Multiculturalism, and the Internationalisation of Higher Education
  • Climate Change, Energy Transitions, and Sustainable Development (including oil & gas and green hydrogen futures)

Abstract submissions & proceedings note

Abstract guidance: Abstracts should not exceed 300 words, include author details and affiliations, and indicate presentation type.

Proceedings/ DHET note: Only full papers that undergo double-blind peer review and are published in official proceedings will be eligible for DHET research output consideration.
