The Faculty of Science wishes to invite staff, students, members of the public, and members of government and the public sector, to submit abstracts for possible research output presentation at the 7th Science Annual Research Conference. This year, the theme of the conference is Global Climate Challenges: A SADC Cry for Water, Energy, Health and Food Security.
The effect of climate change is one of the most threatening global issues of the 21st century, with impacts on water, energy, health, and food security. Global climate challenges are evident in many countries – affecting the well-being of all life forms on earth, and devastating ecosystems. This is evident by the shrinking of glaciers, rise in sea levels, shifts in plant and animal ranges and more intense heat waves. Science can provide robust data and solutions to help countries to adapt, and become more resilient to the effects of climate change, while promoting the transition to a greener global economy.
