The Department of Physics at the University of Namibia sees its role in educating young Namibians, not only as Physicists, but also to provide a sound basis for future scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs, all in an effort to do our part for social upliftment and national development.
Physics, together with Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology is one of the four cornerstones on which all sciences, applied and pure, is based and as such is an essential part of the training of any scientist or engineer. The Department of Physics fulfilled its mission in 2011 by providing four distinct programmes for the training of Physicists and several specialised service courses for the Faculties of Education and Health Sciences while catering for the Faculties of Agriculture and Engineering with a selection of our mainstream modules.
