The University of Namibia (UNAM) recognises and values the importance of research in the creation and dissemination of new knowledge and fostering socioeconomic development by addressing challenges faced by society. The University supports and promotes research that enhances the institution's role in making a positive difference to the quality of lives of members of society. UNAM has thus put in place enabling structures, processes and procedures in order to realize these goals. Such structures include the Centre for Research and Publications (CRP), whose role is to provide coordination and administrative services in support of research activities of the University of Namibia's staff members in order for them to effectively conduct research and publish their work. The CRP also contributes to academic staff capacity building through a series of targeted interventions in the form of training workshops and information sessions.
The Centre for Research and Publications also helps position UNAM with links to other universities, research institutions and strategic collaborators all over the world. It does this by facilitating research collaborations and actively engaging with stakeholders to articulate the alignment between research focus areas, institutional priorities, national, regional and international research imperatives.
