August 13 – 17, 2015
The Society of Pure and Applied Coordination Chemistry (SPACC) Symposium began in Tokyo 21 years ago. This challenging event was pioneered by the SPACC fellow Prof. Yano, and it has since being held annually around the world. The Faculty of Science at the University of Namibia in Windhoek (www.unam.edu.na) will host the 22nd SPACC symposium. It is a great honour for UNAM to hold the 22nd SPACC Symposium for the first time in Africa.
The conference aims to foster collaborative interdisciplinary research in state-of-the-art methodologies and technologies within Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Materials Science, Geology and Applied physics. The meeting aims to attract participants with different backgrounds, to foster cross-pollination between different research fields, and to expose and discuss innovative theories, frameworks, methodologies, tools, and applications.
Prof. Mitsunobu Sato, the President (Chancellor) of Kogakuin University, Tokyo, Japan, Prof. Kelly Chibale from the University of Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa (to be confirmed), Prof. Ramasami from the University of Mauritius (to be confirmed) and Prof. Osmund Mwandemele from the University of Namibia.
As with previous SPACC Symposia, it is intended that this Symposium will provide a platform for young scientists to exchange scientific information among themselves and with the selected leading scientists.
Presentations will consist of three categories, several invited lectures, oral presentations, and poster presentations. The 22nd SPACC will also consist of a Special Panel Sessions. Proposals are invited for submission to the SPACC. A minimum of three papers focused on a specific topic will be accepted for submission under panel category.
All authors attending the conference will be invited to publish in the International Science and Technology Journal of Namibia (ISTJN) on complimentary basis. All submitted papers will go through peer-review process for acceptance.
Best Paper Award and Best Student Paper Award will be conferred at the conference (in order to qualify for the award, the paper must be presented at the conference).
The International Advisory and Organizing Committee hope that every registered participant will present a paper, but acceptance of papers will be at the discretion of the Committee. The official language of the symposium is English.
Registration, all lectures and the oral and poster presentations will be held at Safari Hotel, Windhoek, Namibia,
