UNAM donates to the fire incident victims of Dordabis
The Office of the Dean of Students (ODS) staff members at the Main Campus considered its social responsibility. After hearing of the sad and unfortunate incident that happened at Carib East Farm near Dordabis, and in response to the outcry for support which was made by the victims, ODS staff members felt the need to extend out a helping hand – to give the fire victims their love and support by organising food, clothes, blankets and toiletries for them.
Under the leadership of the Dean of Students, Ms Magriet Mainga, ODS decided to forgo their annual year end function and rather use the funds gathered from staff members to have an outreach through their social responsibility committee at the Windhoek Central State Hospital Ward 3-West.
On the day of the visit, ODS staff members spent quality time with the patients at the ward, and gave out donations such as mineral water, blankets, clothes and food items in the spirit of giving. Doctor Francis Quayson of the Windhoek Central Hospital accepted the donations on behalf of the fire victims at the ward.
