EU-ACP EduLink II NAEAFS Project Concluding Conference
The Department of Food Science and Technology, in the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources at UNAM, served as the focal point for the EDULINK II Networking for Academic Excellence on Agriculture and Food Security (NAEAFS) projec concluding conference held on 17 – 18 January 2017, in Windhoek.
EDULINK II NAEAFS project is an EU funded consortium, with an aim to build the capacity of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), and to promote regional integration of higher academic programmes through a collaborative and mentorship partnership. The project trained eight staff members from each partner HEI in Agriculture and Food Security issues through an online course.
EDULINK II partners consist of University of Witwatersrand (South Africa), Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Malawi), European Mediterranean University (EMUNI) (Slovenia) and CESTAS (Italy), as well as the University of Namibia (Namibia). The project team paid a courtesy call at the offices of the UNAM Pro-Vice Chancellors:Academic Affairs as well as Research, Innovation and Development to brief them on the outcome of this partnership, and the way forward for the consortium. The project team also plans to host a nationwide stakeholder’s information dissemination conference in Windhoek, on 28 February 2017.
