Welcome to the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Namibia (UNAM). The Faculty is situated at Ongwediva Engineering Campus in northern Namibia. The Vision of the Ongwediva Engineering Campus is to be a beacon of excellence in the education and training of engineers and architects who will eventually be registered as professional engineers or professional architects by their respective professional bodies. While engineers are being trained currently, the training of architects will start in the near future.
The mandate of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology is to train engineers that can address the developmental needs of the SADC region and beyond. In order to carry out its mandate, the Faculty fulfils the following functions: (i) Facilitation of engineering knowledge and skills acquisition through innovative teaching practices, (ii) Development of engineering curriculum to meet the requirements of the University of Namibia Senate, Namibia Qualification Authority (NQA) and Engineering Council of Namibia (ECN), (iii) Carry out research and development in engineering and technology, (iv) Provision of community service and engagement for sustainable development.
